About Shangri-la Studio

Shangri-La Studio is the unique, combination cyc, stage and true loft location.

Unlike the original and fictional Shangri-La, deep in the Tibetan mountains, we are easy to find. Right in the heart of the Brooklyn film and photography district located here, in Greenpoint/North Williamsburg.

After 4 years of being a home to the underground art and music scene, Shangri-La earned its name from being a secret spot known only through word of mouth and by invitation. We have broadened our horizons and have now gone public to inspire and entertain creative minds everywhere.

We are over 10,000 square feet, and have an equally sized roof with a stunning view of Manhattan, Brooklyn AND Queens. We are directly next door to Ready-Set, who is one of the largest set builders/providers in the tri-state area. Walk up, or ride our 16' x 16' freight elevator only one flight up into our two separate 5000 square foot studios. A huge 75' L-shaped cyc, a 20' natural light cyc, 15' ceilings, 4 large dressing rooms, a 20' x 20' performance stage, in house lighting and grip rentals, various rooms and different sections makes it like shooting in 5 locations at once.
